savoring the moment

although i'm trying to ignore the inevitable ...
that it really is going to get cold again
and
that snow WILL really come
AND
stay on the ground
i figured i should just highlight what fun we are having

first ... a GORGEOUS weekend.
stacey and i went for a 4 mile run
OUTSIDE
WITHOUT COATS
IN JANUARY
and it felt great!

THEN ...
a 50 degree day.
alex and i went for a run/walk
the boys didn't wear coats out for recess
we got the car washed
and
we played outside
IN JANUARY!!



AND THEN ...
as if we weren't spoiled enough ...
we got ANOTHER beautiful day
with 55 degree weather
which brought the entire neighborhood out
without coats or boots
for a game of STREET hockey
IN JANUARY ...  street hockey!!

i am LOVING this.

of course i would still prefer 80 and sunny
and
 i do actually enjoy having snow for the boys to play in ...
BUT
for january ...
this is PERFECT.

if january in minnesota could always be like this ...
maybe i could stop spending my november
looking for a place to move ;)
